Android Kiosk Application

Overview

The Aramex DropBox application allows customers to create shipments using a custom Android Kiosk application.

The application is placed in stores around the world and centrally managed. Prototype developed the application using the Aramex API and SOTI Kiosk SDK.

Self-service and instant shipments

The Concept

Customers are guided through a step by step wizard to prepare their shipment.

The application will automatically calculate rates and create the shipping label. At the end of the process the label is printed and the customer can pay at the store counter using in-store barcode facilities.

The Design

UX Design

The user experience is vital to a project like this so we spent the initial phases of the case working on UX design and detail design.

Front-end Development

We used the bootstrap framework to code the HTML for the site and to enable us to create an easy to extend UI.

Backend Development and Integration

The ready design in HTML format was integrated with the Sitefinity backend and custom modules developed where needed.

The Result

The application was deployed in multiple counties across different stores and outlets and was extremely well received by customers.

The application helped Aramex to create additional brand exposure, a better way for customers to create shipments and a more efficient process by implementing a digital kiosk solution that is accessible directly from within stores.
