An interactive experience which would allow users to watch videos about the new features of Internet Explorer 9.
The Brief
Microsoft required an interactive CD which it could install on touch screens, PCs and hand out on CD during events. Prototype designed a simple interactive experience which would allow users to watch videos about the new features of Internet Explorer 9 as well as install the browser directly from the CD.
The Concept
We followed the Internet Explorer guidelines for the design of the CD case as well as the interactive elements. We focused on simple animations which would react to the users’ interaction and used icons to emphasize the meaning of each link and section. Users would be able to navigate the interactive CD either from the main menu or by simply clicking through the series of videos.
The Challenge
The CD had to detect the different operating system versions and languages of the users’ PC in order to propose the correct installation file. We created a custom script which would detect the operating system, bits and version to use during the installation.
The Result
The CD had to detect the different operating system versions and languages of the users’ PC in order to propose the correct installation file. We created a custom script which would detect the operating system, bits and version to use during the installation.
